Benefits & Plans

Employees of state agencies, political subdivisions, universities and colleges have access to a robust benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, short and long-term disability and flexible spending accounts (FSA). All benefits are administered by the Department of Administration’s Office of Group Insurance.

The state of Idaho is fully insured for its medical and dental coverages. Each medical plan includes a vision benefit and prescription drug coverage as well as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). As part of their employment, benefit eligible employees receive Basic Life Insurance, including Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) and short and long-term disability, with an option to purchase additional Voluntary Term Life (VTL) coverage. Employees also have the option participate in Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for medical and daycare expenses.

Not all school districts participate in all of the options shown on this page, primarily the Life & Disability and Flexible Spending Accounts.
